Everyday he puts a smile on her face
Everyday he makes her heart race
She always finds herself there
Sitting in her small black chair
Just waiting for the moment to come
When he'll help her escape from
All of her problems, all of her fears
When he will be there to dry her tears
And she finds herself waiting for night
When she can hold her pillow tight
And they can be together in her dreams
As close as they can get, or so it seems
And she's afraid of being betrayed
Afraid that somehow she's being played
Doesn't want this dream to fade
And her fantasies are becoming realities
But she's protecting herself from fatalities
Doesn't want to take down her wall
Afraid that someday she will fall
And nobody will be there to catch her
But somehow when he's standing there
It's almost like she doesn't care
All she can see is the here and now
And she allows herself to be taken away
Leaves her worries for another day
Lets him control the way she feels
Tells herself her heart always heals
But she knows that sometimes that's not true
But there's nothing left that she can do
And she's afraid of being betrayed
Afraid that somehow she's being played
Doesn't want this dream to fade
And her fantasies are becoming realities
But she's protecting herself from fatalities
Doesn't want to take down her wall
Afraid that someday she will fall
And nobody will be there to catch her...
